Mild Rant

Thu Jun 18, 2009, 7:25 AM
I FUCKING HATE THE RELIGIOUS! GODDAMNIT!

"there's some a few things God tells me I have to do which I don't necessarily think are right or fair. In the end, I just have to trust Him."

This said in reference to the old quote from the bible stating that exactly 34 women must be standing around silent in a church. I think it meant there was just supposed to be 34 extra women there, not that all women are supposed to be silent in the church. Still, that's how people USE that part of the bible.

If it turns out there is a God, and he came down from heaven, and told me everyone was supposed to molest one child every day, I'd tell God to get bent and throw me in the fire, because I'd rather burn for MY beliefs than go against MY morals for some all-powerful dickwad!

This is the thing. I don't really know, or care, if there is a God. (For the same reasons I don't really know or care if there are real unicorns- though it'd be neat if there were) I have MY morals. They're built from my experiences and my knowledge. They are subject to change. I am constantly working to build a personal moral code that will react and improve to suit new knowledge, new experiences. I don't just accept what I'm told. I think about it. Not because I want to, but because I HAVE to. You won't tell me what is right or wrong, and neither will anyone else. NOT EVEN THE FUCKING LAW, DAMNIT! The fact that I agree with most laws is pure coincidence of my experiences. I don't like being killed, or having my friends killed, and I've found that I don't enjoy causing harm to others, so I'll support a law that arrests people who kill. THAT'S the way I think. To hell with whatever the rest of you think. No matter how ineffable you might be!

Yeah right, like you don't care about the unicorns. Liar.

I said it'd be neat. But it wouldn't make a difference either way.

Keep telling yourself that.

How's things anyway? Did you see the new TNP Banner I did? Sorry I've not been too active, I'm due to be a father any day now so it's all been a wee bit stressful. I did find the time to download your Common beauty track, though, I think it's a great start.

I'll try and lay down something this weekend.

Yes, I did, but I accidentally skipped over it in my mailbox. Thanks for reminding me...

It's a great picture... A little scattered, so it reads rather flat, but it's a dynamic sort of flat.

Also, congrats and good luck on fatherhood! That makes two friends who will soon have children!

Thanks. It's an okay start. I'm still looking for something to really drag that opening into my recording of my last painting class.

Cool.
